Convert HEIC to JPG Online — Free
iPhones shoot HEIC by default — smaller files, but unreadable on most Windows machines and the majority of websites. ReFile converts HEIC to JPG without losing perceived quality, and can do hundreds at once.
- No signup to try
- Sandboxed processing
- Files deleted in 24 h
What this does
- Single HEIC or batch — 'convert all my HEICs to JPG'
- Choose quality — 'JPG at 90% quality' (the default is 92)
- Resize at the same time — 'JPG max 1920px wide'
How it works
- 1
Upload your HEIC
Drop it above, or click to pick from your device. We validate the format immediately — no spinning on a file we can't process.
- 2
Run the conversion
The recipe runs in an isolated cloud sandbox — same as every other ReFile job. No AI guessing involved; it's a hand-written command that does one thing.
- 3
Download the JPG
Result lands in seconds. Files auto-delete from our servers after 24 hours; signed download URLs expire in the same window.
Frequently asked
- Does the EXIF data (date, location, camera) carry over?
- Yes by default. If you want privacy, ask 'strip EXIF' or 'remove location metadata'.
- Why is HEIC smaller than JPG?
- HEIC uses HEVC compression — about 2× more efficient than JPG. The JPG output will be larger than the HEIC, but compatible everywhere.
- Can ReFile convert HEIC to PNG instead?
- Yes — try /convert/heic-to-png, or just ask 'convert this HEIC to PNG'.
